Brinks Truck Loses Bag with 400,000 Shekels – Honest Citizen Returns the Cash

brinksA Brinks armored vehicle operating in the Kiryat Ata Industrial area on Sunday night the eve of 19 Tishrei lost a bag containing 400,000 shekels in cash. While the crew on board realized a door opened, the employees report were not aware that the bag containing the cash dropped outside the vehicle.

According to Yarden Ben-Ezra, 24, “It was like in the movies. The door opened and the bag fell out. They closed the door and continued driving”. He however witnessed what had occurred and took possession of the bag and returned it to the armored truck’s crew. It is explained the truck’s crew saw his hand movements as he waved, signaling them to stop. “I approached the vehicle with the bag in hand. They were astonished and said ‘thank you’ in a low tone and fled the area quickly” explained Ben-Ezra.

Brinks officials report the incident is under investigation. They add the truck crew realized the door was not properly closed. Officials add that all money transported by Brinks is 100% insured.

  1. wow…what a Kiddush hashem… I wonder why they don’t do some reward money like in North America.

I guess he will get his reward in shemayim.

  2. a. My unarmored Toyota has a warning light that tells me when a door is not closed. Maybe Brinks should switch to Camrys.

    b. I would think that an armored car service that collects bags of cash would have a procedure by which the crew always knows how many bags should be in the vehicle, and if they accidentally leave the door open, they should make a count of the bags before they resume their trip.
