Deri: Going onto Har Habayis is Like Eating on Yom Kippur

derShas party leader MK Aryeh Deri spoke out on Channel 2 Television’s Meet the Press program on motzei Shabbos Parshas Vayera. Deri equates ascending to Har Habayis with eating on Yom Kippur.

He said, “Visiting Har Habayis is like eating on Yom Kippur. This is Mesa B’dei Shomayim. As a result of more people visiting Har Habayis fewer people are visiting Yerushalayim, fewer talmidim are visiting and the world is against it. What do we lose? Yerushalayim is becoming isolated again, without tourists and with an intifada”.

When asked if his party would enter the coalition if asked to do so by the prime minister, Deri stated “Shas will not change the makeup of the coalition. It is heading for elections”.

Will former Minister Moshe Kahlon Hurt Shas if he runs in the next election?

Deri:

On the contrary. I am looking for additional partners, those who are concerned with social issues. If he takes a seat from us we will deal with it.

  1. If the Israeli government determines that our going on Har Habayis creates a security risk, we are obligated not to go on the Har Habayis. This also applies to any other legitimate restriction based upon security.

  2. Whoa!!!!

All he’s going to cause is for some to say since it’s comparable and we violate this,we may violate the other as well!
One few obligations that a majority of the populace still keep

Is he trying to be ridiculous!?

I am very strongly and stridently opposed to ascending on the Har Habayis, but there still are minority opinions that have allowed it.

  3. It may be that traditional sephardim gravitate to ‘over the top’ tough talk,
but he ought to also consider the greater populace as a whole

  4. Ah. I wondered what had gotten into harav Yitchak Yosef. Now it’s clear. The menuval Deri is, once again, trying to stir the pot in the hope that somehow it will strengthen him. Let there be no doubt: with Deri it is never about HKB”H or Am Yisrael – it is always only ever about Deri.

  5. someone should tell him that the punishment for eating on yom kippur is kareis not mesa b’dei shomayim. this man is a crook and an ignoramus

  6. Yagel Libi, whatever you are saying may be true, but it is lashon hara, at best. Deri is not a rasha, he is one of klal yisrael, and it is therefore assur to say lashon hara about him.
This is Besides for calling him a menuval, which might be considered being michaneh Shem ra, to which one loses his share in olam haba, chalilah vichas. What should a person do I this world? Make himself like a mute, and not say assur things.

  7. Read It like this: ascending to har habayis is like eating on Yom Kippur. THIS, (meaning har habayis) is misah bdei shamayim
Both are kinds of misah, from shamayim.

You said, “I am very strongly and stridently opposed to ascending on the Har Habayis, but there still are MINORITY OPINIONS that have allowed it.”

Name me one revered Gadol that you know in our nation that permits people to go on Har Habyis.

  9. One does not need to express what Deri is.

The Mishnah in avois tells about an eye that sees.etc.

They are waiting for him and his gang on the other side

    😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😙😊😊

  10. I’m sure there are more Israelis who eat on YK than go to Har habayis. So let him focus his energies on getting them to fast.

  11. My, so Deri is now a Posek too? He’s the classic politician in the joke:

How can you tell when a politician is lying?

    His lips are moving.

    an Israeli Yid
