IDF Concerns Over Betar Residents Entering Arab Communities

beitarThe IDF in the near future will be working in cooperation with Betar Illit City Hall to prevent Betar Illit residents from entering nearby Arab villages, a move the army explains places them in life-threatening danger.

Security officials are working to drive the message home, that seeking to obtain less expensive services or to purchase products as a cheaper price does not change the fact entering villages places one in life-threatening danger. Officials make reference to an incident a few months ago in which a Jewish contractor entered a nearby village and was robbed of thousands of shekels. A few weeks earlier a Jewish contractor was fortunate to get out as he was the targeted of an attempted stabbing attack.

The experts report that the situation today is quite tenuous and Betar Illit residents are instructed not to enter area villages.

  1. Hire JEWISH labor; fire them all from the supermarkets, stores etc – hit them where it hurts, in their pockets. It gives me the creeps to drive past Beitar & seeing all the Arabs selling stuff at the side of the road, or waiting to be picked up for daily work. Driving past Husan to get into Jerusalem or to go to Kever Rachel these days is really frightening, evening in broad daylight.

We aren’t welcome in THEIR squalid villages – do we want them in OUR homes, schools & supermarkets? RBSA held a rally last week to stop day workers coming into our town to wait for work. Many people are refusing to shop in stores that employ Arab labor – there are many Yidden, men & women, looking for work. Let’s help our own. Yes, I know we can’t pay the same pittance to Jews looking for work & have to pay them more, but so what? Do you really want Arabs in your homes?

This is not racism, it’s common sense. Shabbat Shalom.
