Channel 2 Election Poll: Arab Bloc Become Fourth Largest Party


tibiThe latest poll commissioned by Channel 2 News, carried out by Midgam, was released on Monday evening the eve of 7 Shevat, with 50 days remaining until elections for the 20th Knesset. The poll was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Mina Tzemach.

Likud: 23

Bayit Yehudi: 14

Arab bloc: 12

Yesh Atid: 9

Kahlon 8

Yisrael Beitenu: 7

Shas: 7

Yahadut Hatorah: 7

Meretz 6

Yishai 0

Who would you vote for in premiership race?

Binyamin Netanyahu: 44.4%

Yitzchak Herzog: 34.5

Don’t know/won’t respond: 21.1%

  1. 1. There is no “race” for Prime Minister. They tried that about 20 years ago, and ended up with a Labor prime minister and a right-wing kenesset.

    2. The Arab parties united and are gaining only one extra seat.

    3. If the two religious parties that will get no seats were united with someone, it would shift perhaps seven seats to the “right” of the spectrum. Given the tradition bias in polls against religious and Sefardi, Yishai might make the threshold.

    4. Other than the impact of the splintering of the religious parties, the results are ideologically unchanged from last election in term of nationalists-socialists (right-left) balance.
