Chareidi Askanim from London Paying for Guards at Israeli Shuls

argFollowing the barbaric murder of mispallalim in a Har Nof shul, members of London’s chareidi community have undertaken to raise money to increase security for shuls in Israel. They envision seeing an armed security personnel at shuls during tefilla times. The Migun Team 3 Company has been selected for the assignment.

Manny Schwartz, who is heading the program in Israel, is working to train chareidim in the use of handguns, something that is rare today. It is reported that since the massacre in Har Nof, more chareidim are seen in shooting ranges in Israel. He feels that the situation demands that people learn to defend themselves. Schwartz explains in the Diaspora things are more difficult but he wishes to copy the London model, which has security personnel outside of shuls.

  1. I know – how about a defensive force to protect the Jews, including Chareidim, who live in Israel – what could be a bigger Mitzva than that? Those Chareidim that are in training on the proper use of guns could join, and a great name for such an organization would be the Israel Defense Force.

    Oh – wait a minute….

  2. To#1: that is a good idea a charadie idf. It would work if its run by fellow charadi officers and generals or at least sympathizers to charadi lifestyles. Oh-wait a minutes… The idf doesn’t want to do that.
