Based on the polls, unless Labor and Likud want to form a “grand coalition” (and perhaps even if they do), the hareidim will be needed by the party forming the government as an alternative to recruiting coalition partners whose ideology they can’t stand. And the price for hareidim will be unusually low this year, since they must get a change to the basic laws on conscription (as opposed to the usual demands for patronage).
