I was in Yerushalayim yesterday. You see Deri’s picture on buses and posters all over the place. It benefits Eli Yishai, since Deri is reminding voters why not to vote for him.

Deri would be smartewr not to make himself the campaign issue. He is not very well respected as the poll show so many of Shas’ voters considering switching.

the problem is that there is so much emotion here. if you vote yachad you’e accused of defying Maran. If you vote EItz you are going against Daas Torah.If you vote YHT you are an apikorus.

In the past one’s party was defined by what one was: Sefardi, Hasidic, or Litvish. For the first time there is an ideological option for hareidim.
