Thursday Night Channel 1 & Channel 10 Election Polls


votThe latest Chanel 1 News election poll, released on Thursday night the eve of 8 Adar, shows the radical left-wing Meretz party may not pass the minimum threshold to enter the 20th Knesset.

Likud: 24

Labor/The Movement: 24

Arab Bloc: 12

Bayit Yehudi: 12

Yesh Atid: 12

Kulanu: 7

Shas: 7

Yahadut Hatorah: 7

Yisrael Beitenu: 6

Yachad: 5

Meretz: 4

The results:

Right-wing bloc (47 seats), left-wing bloc (40 seats) center (19 seats) and chareidim (14 seats).

Labor/The Movement: 23

Likud: 21

Yesh Atid: 13

Arab Bloc: 12

Bayit Yehudi: 12

Kulanu: 9

Shas: 7

Yahadut Hatorah: 7

Yisrael Beitenu: 6

  1. 1. Yachad are nationalists, not Chareidim. Chareidim put Torah before the interests of the Medinah. Yishai has made it clear his party is strongly pro-settlement, which makes it “Right”.

    2. While Kulanu and Yesh Atid are in the center, Kulanu is less anti-religious than Likud or Bayit Yehudi, similar to Likud on national security, and emphasizes the socio-economic policies of Likud (rather than national security). They should probably count Yesh Atid as “left” since after the last knesset, it is unlikely Likud would tolerate Yesh Atid.

    3. The Arabs should be consdiders a separate block. They can join a left wing government only if the hareidim join as well since many in Labor and Yesh Atid would not be comfortable with Arabs in the government, and Kulanu would be opposed. Hareidi inclusion is a ‘fig leaf” for Labor to include Arabs.
