NYC Could See Up To 2 Inches Of Snow By Sunday Evening

nycspThe New York City has issued a snow alert and travel advisory for Sunday and Monday morning.

Light snow is expected to begin falling around noon Sunday. Up to 2 inches could fall by evening.

The National Weather Service says the snow will mix with or change to freezing rain Sunday evening. The ice and snow is expected to taper off before the Monday morning commute. But commuters are urged to be cautious as untreated roads and walkways could be slippery.

About 2-to-4 inches of snow, with up to a tenth of an inch of ice, is expected by the time it all ends.

The weather service says the average temperature for the city was about 24 in February.

That’s 11 degrees below the average of 35 for the month.
