IDF Responds to a Rocket Attack in S. Israel


idfSirens sounded in areas of southern Israel on Thursday evening, 4 Iyar, signaling a rocket attack from Gaza. Sirens were heard in Sderot as well as in other areas in proximity to the Gaza border, in the Shar HaNegev Regional Council.

The IDF confirms that the sirens were not a malfunction but a rocket attack. The rocket impact site was detected, in an open area in the Shar HaNegev district. B’chasdei Hashem there were no fatalities, injuries or damage.

The IDF Spokesman’s Office confirms that the IDF retaliated against terrorist objectives in northern Gaza. The IDF also closed border crossings from Gaza on Friday, not permitting Gazans into Israel to attend Muslim Friday services.
