Applications for the Tikvah Institute for Yeshiva Men are due this Sundaynight.

The program will take place during the last week of the upcoming kayitz bein ha’zmanim (August 9-16), and will explore ideas of how a Torah Jew should properly relate to the society in which he lives. Discussions will be led by renowned talmidei chachomim and professors of political philosophy, teaching about economics, politics, and social policy from sophisticated Torah and general perspectives.

The Tikvah Fund, a philanthropic foundation and think tank based in New York, fully subsidizes all participation costs, including all participant travel, hotel, and food. There is also a modest stipend.

Among the speakers this year are Rav Ahron Lopiansky, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva of Greater Washington, Rav Yitzchak Breitowitz of Ohr Somayach, the columnist Jonathan Rosenblum, and William Kristol, editor of the Weekly Standard magazine. The program directors are Rabbi Yitzchok Adlerstein of the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles, and Rabbi Mark Gottlieb, senior director of the Tikvah Fund.

The institute is open to bochurim and yungerleit between the ages of 20 and 30 who have considerable yeshiva background. Those interested in attending are encouraged to apply by May 31 via www.tikvahyeshiva.org.
