Court Rules Chareidi Israel Police Volunteer Will Compensate a Victim in Batei Warsaw Beating

chnThe Jerusalem Magistrate Court has instructed an Israel Police volunteer, a man affiliated with the Gur Chassidus, will compensate a member of the Eida Chareidis tzibur to the tune of 125,000 NIS for taking part in an assault against him in the dispute surrounding Batei Warsaw housing in Meah Shearim.

Avrohom Hirschman filed the lawsuit in the Jerusalem Court against the volunteer policeman. In addition to the 125,000 ruling, the policeman has to pay Hirschman’s legal and court costs amounting to 16,000 NIS. Hirschman sustained serious injuries when attacked and beaten by Gerre Chassidim in 2011. Some 20 people beat him with sticks and batons, leaving him on the street in serious condition.

It has since been learned the policeman volunteered for a shift to have an alibi. He then used his position as a volunteer policeman to assist the attackers, tampering with evidence to confuse investigators and direct them away from the assailants. He was also charged criminally in addition to the civil suit pertaining to his interference in the investigation but got off with community service instead of jail time after the prosecution accepted a plea bargain agreement.

Attorney for the plaintiff Itamar Ben-Givir told the press “I am pleased that Deputy President of the Court Justice Gad Ehrenberg accepted my client’s lawsuit and the evidence in the case, realizing the severity of the assault against him as is reflected in the court’s ruling. We do not understand how and why the Justice Ministry’s Police Investigation Unit handled the case against the policeman with silk gloves and agreed to only sentence him to community service. One who takes part in such serious offences belongs in jail.”

Ben-Givir added that the evidence accumulated in the case also points to negligence by Israel Police for permitting these attacks to occur and he expects compensation from the police as well, mentioning he will be seeking a significantly higher sum than the one received from the volunteer policeman involved.

  1. Look what happens to a frum yid when he volunteers for the malchus horisha – the zionists.
He can fall so low and beet a fellow Jew.

  2. 620,
How dare you call the tzioni populace a “malchus horisha”? The Israeli government is the largest supporter of Torah in the history of the world, giving millions and millions of shekels each year to yeshivot throughout the country. You know what, just don’t go to Israel if you’re so against the government. You’re a beneficiary of Israel but you slam it behind its back.
    Appalling

Do you know when Batei Warsaw were built? Do you know when Batei Ungarin were built? Do you know when meah shearim was built? Long before the Israeli government. There have been Yidden traveling to and from E”Y all the years, to believe that the only reason jews are traveling to E”Y is because there is a Tzioni Gov. is plain and simple UNeducated and ignorant. That is why you have people who claim to be Palestinian even though they are jewish, because they were born before 1948 in the county of PALESTINE under British rule and never accepted Tzioni citizenship.

As a veterinarian I am always amazed at the phenomena of there being more caudal sections of the horses in this world than the cranial ones. You are one of these caudal sections without a cranial section of any species.
This may also explain your lack of proper spelling and sentence structure,or perhaps, your disgusting attitude to those of us and our children who have spent decades building up and defending the land.

  5. Rew do you also realizes that without the help of hashem through the IDF there is a meah shearim to speak of? The patience and competence of the IDF to not fight against they’re own people when the soldiers are spat at, have rocks and other objects thrown at them and insulted is amazing. The thing that really gets me upset is the lack of appreciation that many people show towards the צבא for laying their lives down every single day for their brothers.

  6. notyeshivish: They are not asking the TZAVA to help them. They have survived all these yrs without them and want to keep it that way. They don’t want the TZAVA to come into their backyard that they spent so many HUNDREDS of yrs building and protecting and now the TZAVA in the name of ‘protection’ takes away their children from the Yiddishkeit that they always kept. (they have some different minhagim). You don’t know, obviously, all the things the IDF has done over the yrs to give people this opinion about them. Just one small example, they FORCED people to change their JEWISH name upon entry if it didn’t sound (in their definition) Tzioni enough.

They chose certain names they forced upon the Sephardim and others on the Ashkenazim. and you weren’t allowed to cross the line which they have set. You couldn’t decide which community you belong to or join together as “AM ECHAD”.

  7. zionism is not Judaism.

Judaism is one of the oldest monotheistic religions and was founded over 3500 years ago in the Middle East. Jews believe that God appointed the Jews to be his chosen people in order to set an example of holiness and ethical behaviour to the world. – BBC/Google

  8. I pray for the safety of every Jew, where they are, what they are, and when they are, for their safety, well being, and that their hearts be close to Hashem.

  9. Excuse me from where did you get that story from? Is it documented? Also, I think we can all agree that in 1967, logically, meah shearim wouldn’t survive an hour against the Arab armies. Obviously hashem have nissim but in the teva form it was the TZAVA that saved Israel. Also, the TZAVA gives observant Jews ways to serve in the army such as hesder and nachal chareidi. I’m not saying that right now is the ideal situation but I’m saying people need to appreciate the incredible work the IDF does for the JEWISH people every single day.
