Video of Interest: Shacharis Minyan with Crew Authorization On United Flight to Tel Aviv [UPLOADED MID-FLIGHT]

Crew members of United flight 84 from Newark to Tel Aviv graciously accommodated a minyan for their Orthodox Jewish passengers, closing off the back galley for 30 minutes for prayer services, something that not too many other airlines do.

  1. This is only possible because of the unique layout of United aircraft. The galley has its entire area in the rear with a large floor space instead of two narrow passages in the middle that others have.

  2. Hopefully when el al will be a airline from a Jewish country and not anti chariedi they will also do the same.

  3. Many Rabbonim and Poskim hold on a plane it’s better to davin in your seat without a minyan and with kavanah, than to stand and davin with a minyan, especially when you are distracted by turbulence.

  4. I tried once to Daven with a Minyan on a plane and you can’t hear the Chazzan over the sound of the plane and also most Rabbonim say it’s better to Daven in your seat than to Daven with a Minyan even if you would be the tenth man for the Minyan

  5. I agree it can work sometimes. However would they sit down if the stewardess tells them to sit down because of turbulence? Last Rosh Hashana on my flight People made a minyon for mariv when the plane began to shake in middle of shmona esrai I thought it was a big chillul hashem that no one moved even though the stewardess kept yelling “ze sakana”.

  6. even when flying with united in a different kitchen layout they were very nice and understanding about it!!
,Which will never happen in EL AL (I fly very often)
