Additional Police to Be Added to Jerusalem to Combat Terror And Alleviate Fears and Anxiety of Residents

mishFollowing meetings between Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat and Jerusalem Police Chief Moshe Edri, it has been decided to form a combined force one hundred strong, including 50 policemen and 50 municipal inspectors which will begin patrolling the city in vehicles to increase security and restore a feeling of security for residents of the capital. The unit will engage in various activities towards restoring the sense of security that many residents feel is gone due to mounting security incidents and terror attacks. Officials add that by having additional manpower out in the streets it will also reduce response in time of need.

Mayor Barkat feels the new unit which represents cooperation between the city and police will play an important security role in the capital while restoring the sense of security lost by many residents, thanking Chief Edri.
