Small Group Of Neo-Nazis Rally In London, Outnumbered By Counter-Demonstrators

gg1A small group of neo-Nazis have staged an anti-Semitic rally in London, but were hugely outnumbered by counter-demonstrators.

About 20 far-right activists protested in central London against Shomrim, a Jewish neighborhood watch group. They had planned to rally in north London’s Golders Green area, home to a large Jewish community, but police decided to move them because of the disorder that could ensue.

The group, waving Palestinian and Confederate flags, stood surrounded by police in a fenced-in area near Downing Street on Saturday. A counter-demonstration drew more than 100 people, who chanted “Nazis off our streets” nearby.

Police said they could not ban a static demonstration and have a duty to safeguard the right to protest.

  1. 1. One should remember the Brits don’t like Nazis (cf. London Blitz).

    2. Most anti-semitism in Britian is from left-wingers and Muslims whose families moved to Britain in recent times – whereas the “neo-nazis” are right-wing of English ancestry.

  2. It goes without saying that these people are anti-semites. However I can understand that people are worried about a special “police” to look after specifically Jews. Imagine Muslims would create their own “police” force like Shomrim, I for one would be distinctly uncomfortable…

As the article states, the demonstration was against Shomrim specifically, as they perceive Shomrim as a sign of “Jewification”, taking more control in London than they feel one group should have.

Should we be keeping a lower profile in Golus?

  3. Actually we “Brits” as you call us are appalled that such people exist amongst us – since crackpot extremists of either “left” or “right” have rejected our whole value system. Instead they try to sell us their animal culture.

  4. We should still be weary of this little group, since this anti-semitism could chalila become bigger… unfortunately we learnt from the bitter past history

  5. The sign says that the protest event will be an “absolute gas.” An intentional phrasing, I’m sure.
The brought Confederate flags. Silly buggers don’t know that the Confederacy was okay with Jews, and even appointed one to a cabinet position, I believe.
And it’s pretty stupid to protest a neighborhood watch!

  6. @gavriel613, and any other idiots who share his thoughts…

This is not an “anti-Shomrim” protest.

The only place I’ve seen that description is in YWN’s report. No other news report that I’ve read mentions “anit-Shomrim”. And their own promotional posters clearly don’t mention it.

You are completely wrong. It all started with the Shomrim car which brought all the attention. Have a look on Mr bonehills blog what he moabs about. Its mainly about Shomrim. We have had Shomrim in Manchester for over 20 years but don’t seek attention with fancy police style cars. Yes we need Shomrim but keep a low profile. Its quite obvious

Thank you for your point and your dignified way of making it

I did actually check before I posted and yes almost all news reports mention Shomrim.

If google news is unblocked for you I suggest you do these two searches: 1) for “jewification Shomrim”, 2) for “jewification -shomrim” [the “-” means that it won’t list any articles that have the word shomrim in them].

I just did this myself and where it says “Explore in depth” you see there are 160 articles for the search which includes the word Shomrim, but only 6 articles about jewification which don’t mention Shomrim.

You do have a point that the protest isn’t specifically about Shomrim, however that is what seems to have bothered them the most – and that was exactly my point, by doing things like this latent anti-semitism is awoken.

  9. meshugenevelt,
I’m inclined to agree that the Shomrim car was the last straw that brought these people out the woodwork.
Plenty security companies have cars, but they don’t dress them up in police colours.
