The Knesset Committee on Monday morning 19 Tammuz approved the formation of the joint committee dealing with the state budget. The committee is made of 10 members, including the chairman, David Biton (Likud), Miki Zohar (Likud), Yinon Magal (Bayit Yehudi), Roi Folkman (Kulanu), Mikey Levy (Kulanu), Ahmed Tibi (Joint Arab List), Merav Michaeli (Labor), Moshe Gafne (Yahadut Hatorah), Manuel Trachtenberg (Labor) and Yitzchak Vaknin (Shas).
Thirteen MKs voted in favor of the committee and there was one abstention, MK Yisrael Eichler. Eichler stated it remains unclear to him why Gafne is on the budget committee and he is not. It was pointed out to Eichler that Gafne is the chairman of the Knesset Finance Committee so his presence on the budget committee seems logical. Despite the explanation, Eichler opted to abstain.

The real question should be, what is the racist Ahmed Tibi doing on the committee?
“Gafne is the chairman of the Knesset Finance Committee so his presence on the budget committee seems logical” is the explanation to the wider public but there is no one, but no one, who has a better handle on where every cent comes from and goes to, that Rabbi Gafni. He is without doubt the best representative of the haredi population for the committee.

I thought every decision is made by the moetzes gedolei hatorah so either they wanted Gafne or they didn’t but for one mk to abstain against another makes me think some mk’s do not follow daas torah.
