Hundreds of Muslims threatened a small group of Jews on Har Habayis on Wednesday morning, 6 Menachem Av. The Jews were verbally assault and threatened with shouts including “With blood we will redeem al-Aqsa”.
Police and a large force of Yassam commando units moved in to push the Muslim agitators aside and permit the small group to complete the visit to the holy site.
The police response signals a possible change in policy as usually, in such cases the police push the Jews off of the holy site.
Gedolei HaPoskim throughout the ages including Gedolei Hador Shlita today have ruled it is absolutely forbidden to visit Har Habayis, even if one does so in line with Halacha including tevila. This is also the ruling of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel. This is an Issur Kares.
