A Record Breaker: Twin Sisters Married Twin Brothers And Gave Birth 20 Minutes Apart

twIn what is being reported as a “first in the world”, twin sisters married twin brothers and the sisters gave birth to girls in Israel 20 minutes apart. The proud grandmother explained to the press “The Tzaddik from Yavniel told me ‘you will become a savta (grandmother) in one shot’”.

In the Breslov community in Yavniel the Tzaddik of Yavniel, HaGaon HaRav Eliezer Shlomo Shick ZT”L is credited with bringing this about.

A number of years ago the twin brothers arrived at the tzaddik’s yeshiva in Yavniel during kabolas khal. At some point the rav called the brothers, telling them he has an excellent shidduch for them both. The rav made the shidduch with twin girls and the weddings took place four days apart from one another.

At some point after the chasenahs, during kabolas khal, the rav told the grandmother that “you will become a grandmother at one shot”, and she admits at the time she didn’t really understand the true meaning of the tzaddik’s words. The grandmother adds that when she heard those words she was not even aware the girls were pregnant.

The sisters gave birth naturally, and following the births of the daughters the news spread like wildfire in Laniado Hospital in Netanya. Many doctors and nurses came to see for themselves after hearing of the truly unique story.

They began searching to determine if this has occurred before and it appears this is the first recorded case in the world. They did find a documented case that occurred in 2013 in the United States, in which twins married twins and one gave birth to boy twins.

“Baruch Hashem, in the merit of the tzaddik’s bracha, my brother and I, with our wives, get to hug our new daughters” one of the proud dad’s told Kikar Shabbos News. He calls it an “open miracle” since he does not know of a previous case. The young dad added that they gave birth in Laniado Hospital in line with instruction from the tzaddik because of the merit of the later Sanzer Rebbe ZT”L and the mesirus nefesh that surrounds the establishment of that hospital.

  1. Super article. Really puts a smile on my face. I hope it did to yours as well.
Imagine if the girls did indeed give birth to twins. First in Israel.

    MAZEL TOV TO THE FAMILIES.

  2. Left out 2 details:-
    1) Are the Sisters & brothers respectively identical or fraternal?
    2) Did the older twin marry the older twin?

  3. “In the Breslov community in Yavniel the Tzaddik of Yavniel, HaGaon HaRav Eliezer Shlomo Shick ZT”L is credited with bringing this about.”
Beautiful article…..besides for that small innocent looking paragraph of borderline Kfirah.

  4. Mazal tov and this is really shefadike. Fascinating berakhot!

Now before people get all swept up about Rabbi Shick of recent memory, lets all ask why the frum media is not picking up on what is going on in Yavne’el right now.

    Moderators Note: YWN reported it.
