Toddler in Northern Israel Dies of Unidentified Infection

mdanDoctors are working to understand an infection that claimed the life of an 18-month-old in Ziff Hospital in Tzfas this week. The child arrived in the hospital in grave condition. Samples of the deadly bacteria have been sent to the lab in the Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer Hospital in Tel Aviv for analysis.

It is explained that when the toddler arrived in the hospital some of his major organs had already begun failing due to the infection that attacked his body. Doctors battled to save the toddler for three days, but the aggressive unidentified infection won out despite their best efforts.

Health Ministry officials have also been called in as the experts work to identify the killer infection.

  1. What makes you think it was meningitis? If they work it up it won’t be unidentified! Maybe they don’t know how. I once saved an Aids pt. with a weird bacteria.
