Crown Heights Banners Target Rep. Clarke Over Iran Deal Vote

i2

A grassroots campaign is underway in Crown Heights to urge Congresswoman Yvette Clarke to vote against the proposed nuclear deal with Iran. Some thirty Crown Heights synagogues and community organizations emailed their members expressing deep concern with the deal. Opponents hung several twenty foot banners across Kingston Ave, targeting the deal. One of the anti Iran banners read “Death to Israel. Death to the USA”, a quote from Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in the days following the
agreement. Other banners read “Deal gives billions to terrorists”. All the banners have Clarke’s phone number and ask community members to call her office and urge her to vote NO!.

Clarke represents the 3rd largest Jewish district in the country. Approximately 25 percent of her district is Jewish. It includes the heavily Orthodox Jewish neighborhoods of Crown Heights, East Flatbush, Flatbush, and Kensington.

An estimated five hundred people called the congresswoman in the last 24 hours.

  1. I understand having to work on Congresswoman Clark but Chuck Schumer really should be in the forefront fighting this deal , not spending all this time considering things. It’s not brain surgery to see that this deal does not help America, Israel, and the rest of the free world. Shame on him for his lack of backbone and for not being a mensch. Please remember this election time. Even if he eventually comes out against the deal, look how he is wimping out now.
