Police Impose Restrictions for Islamic Worshipers Heading to Har Habayis


hhaIn an effort to prevent violence on Har Habayis following Sunday Muslim prayers, Jerusalem Police Commander Moshe Edri has imposed restrictions, barring any males under the age of 50 and all PA (Palestinian Authority) residents. Hence only males above 50 with an Israeli identity card will be permitted onto Har Habayis on  Sunday, Hoshana Raba. There are no restrictions pertaining to women.

Restrictions will also compel all Islamic worshipers to enter the Old City via the Lion’s Gate and no other entrances.

On motzei Shabbos police removed Islamic males planning to spend the night in al-Aqsa as part of the ongoing effort to prevent violence on the holy site on Sunday.
