Rabbi Stav Calls on Muslim Religious Leaders to Condemn Violence

stavThe Chairman and Founder of the Tzohar Rabbonim Organization, Rabbi David Stav issued a direct call to Muslim religious leaders to express condemnation for the increasing Palestinian violence being launched against Israeli citizens in recent days.

“The thought of Palestinians looking on with disregard as a woman screams out for help with a knife lodged in her neck should be viewed as a sign of utter disgrace for that community and indeed their failure to act is not much less disturbing than the act of the stabber himself,” said Rabbi Stav.

In his call to the Muslim clerics, Rabbi Stav reminded them that just weeks ago he had joined alongside rabbis and imams in an emotional visit to the hospital where the family injured in the Duma fire was being treated.

Recalling how this week’s Torah portion reflects on the first time murder was ever committed, Rabbi Stav stressed that, “Murder of another is the most vicious transgression in our religious tradition,” adding, “As religious figures you must condemn these acts of murder against the innocent Israelis in recent days and condemn this violence for your sake, for the sake of the God who inspires his followers.”
