Will you take the xtreme challenge?! Minyan Shelanu’s 2nd annual xtreme runner mud run event is coming up. New this year, we are excited to have separate events for men and women!! Sunday October 18 we will challenge your strength, speed and precision on our new course @ raceway park, in Englishtown, NJ. All proceeds of the event go to benefit minyan Shelanu. Minyan Shelanu is an organization in Lakewood that is there for our youth and teens even into adulthood, both girls and boys alike. They are a constant support for the everyday challenges and obstacles its members face. The minyan, as it is called, has become a home to many and is an integral part of the Lakewood community. Being the primary organization that deals with the kids in the community they need your support to allow them to continue their great work. Show your support and make an impact by joining the race and taking on the xtreme runner challenge or by sponsoring a runner.

  1. I am astounded by the work of all the various organizations. May they be blessed with much hatzlocah! At the same time I am wondering out loud ….. have the yevanim infiltrated our camp? It seems to this writer that many organizations have turned healthy recommended exercise and turned it into an extreme form of avodah zorah R’L . Biking , Running , Walking etc. are wonderful outlets however the focus and competition has turned it into a sport that does not deserve to be acknowledged and certainly not lauded in our community.

  2. Minyan Shelanu is “THE only place in Lakewood” where EVERYONE can, and does, come for ANY sort of help or support!! Be it a yeshiva-man, parent, teen, layman, yeshivish, not yeshivish, litvish, chasidish, sefardish, etc.

Minyan Shelanu is THE only place that caters to OUR teens 24/SEVEN/365. They have a full blown Shabbos program. Minyan Shelanu has made numerous Melava Malkas on sporadic Motzoei shabbosim. There were large turnouts. They have a major annual shabbaton with numerous inspiring rabbonim and askonim in attendance. There are many smaller scale shabbatons throughout the year – held in Lakewood and out.

They have shiurim given by prominent (yeshivish, litvish, chasidish, sefardish) Roshei Yeshiva and Rabbonim. There are daily – TWO minyanim for shachris, TWO minyanim for mincha, A packed night seder with chavrusos and maariv. Stop by any night to check it out!! (or join)

They have sent dozens of our boys and girls back to yeshiva. Many are already married and leading nice yiddisheh mishpachos. Some as yungerleit and others as fine baalei batim.

The Minyan girls program run by very experienced and devoted staff, has seen great success since its inception.

THERE IS NOT ENOUGH ROOM HERE TO ELABORATE ON THE MANY ZECHUSIM AND HATZOLAS NEFOSHOS that The Minyan has done and continues to do.

All this is accomplished through their warm, devoted, caring ALL VOLUNTEER staff!

The minyan is a place where you may see a boy with long hair saying yehei shmay rabbah ‘bekol koichoy’! Yes THOSE children are OUR children, OUR klal Yisroel, OUR MINYAN– where every yochid feels that he/she CAN belong, and that belonging can keep THEM all afloat in order to keep THEM as part of US!!

Remember: These are OUR children! YES, OUR children!
No parent or child should have to ever experience these trying situations.

So, please, open your hearts and support OUR (yours & mine) Minyan Shelanu!
Please show your support, and help them help you.
