Additional Protection for IDF Soldiers at Hussan

1The IDF Gush Etzion Brigade Commander last week ordered the implementation of a number of measure to increase security in that region, placing an emphasis on Gush Etzion Junction, the site of a number of recent fatal and non-fatal Islamic terror attacks.

Another hot spot is the Hussan Bypass Road which is used by resident of Betar Illit. The PA (Palestinian Authority) village of Hussan has become increasingly hostile and attacks against motorists on the road have become increasingly commonplace.

In an effort to prevent attacks, the IDF has stationed soldiers at the village in order to prevent residents to targeting Jewish vehicles from their village vantage point. The IDF has also placed concrete barriers at the village to provide protection for the soldiers assigned to that area.

The photo shows the large concrete barriers in place.

  1. It’s scary! There are over 50,000 heimishe Yidden of Beitar Illit whose only access to their city is to pass Hussan and ??? (some other village – name alludes me now!)on their way to and from their city to almost anywhere other than Beit Shemesh!
