Bayit Yehudi MK Magal Resigns from Knesset Amid Allegations of Harassment

.MK (Bayit Yehudi) Yinon Magal on Monday, 18 Kislev, announced his resignation from Knesset amid harassment allegations against him. Magal, who was the faction head in Knesset, last week announced he was stepping down from that post in the hope of calming the response to the allegations against him. However on Monday he realized this is not going to occur and he resigned from Knesset. He told the media that despite the harassment allegations against him, his actions were not criminal but he is aware that he hurt people with his unacceptable condition in the past and stepping down from his elected post is the correct thing for him to do at this point.

Party leader Minister Naftali Bennett, who is out of the country, announced that he accepts Magal’s resignation. Israel Police has not yet signaled if Magal will be questioned ‘under warning’ in the case.

It appears that Avi Wortzman, who served in the previous Knesset, will be returning to fill the void left by Magal.
