Chareidi Lawmakers Side with IDF Commanders against the Breaking the Silence NGO

deriChareidi lawmakers led by Minister Aryeh Deri, Minister Yaakov Litzman and MK Moshe Gafne have come out publically against the Breaking the Silence NGO. They have signed a public letter against the organization.

The organization is at the heart of a storm in Israel as President Rivlin recently participated in a panel alongside a representative of Breaking the Silence, an organization that condemns the IDF and its operations in Yehuda and Shomron in the international community on a regular basis. Rivlin is also under fire for his actions.

The chareidi parties have decided to join officers in standing and reserve duty forces against the NGO, which has been banned this week from participation in official IDF events and the nation’s schools by Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon and Education Minister Naftali Bennett respectively.

The letter against the NGO is signed by over 500 IDF officers serving a company commanders and higher. The signatories, all officers, are from all walks of Israeli life, unified under one umbrella in their condemnatory statement to the organization.

The letter explains that the lies and propaganda of the organization have been exposed, including falsified eyewitness testimony and statements against the IDF. The officers accuse Breaking the Silence of taking advantage of Israel’s democracy to harm the IDF and promote its own agenda. They mention how Breaking the Silence receives funding from BDS organizations, enemies of Israel who benefit by their work against Israel and the IDF.

The chareidi lawmakers join the call to boycott the organization and exclude it from all functions.

  1. Of course the Charedei MKS should be part of this boycot that destroys morale, Parnasa & AIDS the enemy. What’s the question!!

Rivlin spoke at an Haeretz conference where a rep of ‘Breaking the Silence’ also spoke and he publicly defamed & pointed fingers at that group’s activities. That doesn’t show agreement or allegiance.

  2. #2 Rivlin was a speaker & was not on a panel discussion which does give more recognition to other individuals.

As a speaker he pointed out the dangers of the org called ‘Breaking the Silence” & no one there understood that he was legitimizing this horrific group of self-hating Jews.

    What did I misunderstand??

  3. Bashing Israel in the international media is absolutely wrong, but ask anyone that’s a little familiar with the facts and you’ll see that there is some truth in their words
