Chareidim Attack IDF Soldiers on Shmuel HaNavi Street on Friday Night

charnA group of about 80 IDF soldiers and officers were attack on Shmuel HaNavi Street in Yerushalayim on Friday night Parshas Bo. One female officer was hit in her face with an object but did not require transport to a hospital B”H.

According to a Kikar Shabbos News report, quoting eyewitnesses, the chareidim came out from a tisch and saw the soldiers and decided to attack them. A number of area residents saw what was taking place and intervened, explaining they were not about to stand by and let the soldiers get attacked and create a Chilul Hashem against the chareidi tzibur.

It appears the soldiers were heading to the Maalot Daphne apartment of Rav Machlis for a seudas Shabbos. During the Shabbos meal the rav explained to them the actions of the attackers do not in any way represent the majority of the chareidi community.

  1. Is yishiva world news really a frum news source????
how can you put down such open shtusim, making the erliche yidin for the mechalelay hashem and the “mechalelay shabos” are the pour attacked tzadikim!?!?!?

for who ever doesn’t know the real story, it is the following:

The Israeli government is trying to cool down the state of israel from yidishkiet, one of there ways are by causing chilul shabos everywhere and especially in frum areas (publicly).
the last few weeks thay started a new idea how to bring in the coldnes in the frum centers of yerushalayim by sending soulders on shmuel hanavi every friday night, armed, and all proudly with there cell phones, (and of course men and wimen mixed acting very unepropriet, and untzenuis)!……
this shabos wen those solder came thrue deshinski shul, they were awaited and yelled on & protested at! not “attacked” like you called it.
lets hope those shame full mechalelay shabos will stop coming to embaris the holly Shabos!!

  2. Wow! Talk about extreme bias! Professional journalism is what it’s called today. Where you report a partial story to slime, besmirch an entire population cause you don’t agree with their belief! Call them radical already.

Shabbos night 30 soldiers. That was definitely without cars. There was no chillul shabbos!

It’s one thing when these people go protest in accordance with their belief in non-religious neighborhoods. It’s another thing when the chillul shabbos is in their face!

There is way more to this story than this twisted report. I would expect way more from a site that calls itself the YESHIVA world than this. I would rather expect this from yediot or maariv site.

  3. 1-btw, if you look at the picture above those solders dont look like they’r on the way to a shabos seuda!

2-and if there were 80 of them, please tell me who invited 80 people to his meal??

oh maybe in malot daphna they have really big houses!

3-and one more point, 80 armed solders, that are being attacked have a problem to fight 100 or even more charaydim??? please think again if wen you red this page the first time you hade a doute to that it is true!!

  4. These kind of actions are reprehensible and serve no other purpose but to distance our brothers and sisters further away from the truth.

Those who are the strongest opponents of service in the zionist army and association with the state, should be the strongest condemmers against such low actions.

  5. i get the feeling as probably many people do, that there is a severe lack of emphasis on Ben Adam lechaveiro in the Israeli chinuch system. I’ve heard a couple of rabonim in America say it too. If American bnei Torah see a soldier they would help him or maybe thank him for his work that he does. That’s just my impression.

  6. Why do you continue to refer to these troublemakers as Chareidim? Anyone hitting another Jew is a Rasha. Please start referring to them appropriately.

  7. This attack on IDF soldiers is such a CHUTZPA NORAH.

Whom ever leads or educates these chassidim will have a punishment in shamayim. What type of education/hashkafa are they receiving? If a community can publish pamphlets that is WRITTEN & VERBAL abuse to religious IDF soldiers and be proud of it increases incitement, hatred and violence – “klal yisroel is in major crisis”. A worse crisis than “kevarim, tznius, speaking in shul, and mixed gender walking in the streets”.

FIX this problem quickly and find the hidden “donors” to these attacks. The ones attacking are getting paid and their bail is being paid by ‘SOMEONE’.

  8. “…. explaining they were not about to stand by and let the soldiers get attacked and create a Chilul Hashem against the chareidi tzibur….”
All they’re worried about, is the Chareidi Tzibur. So selfish. Why aren’t they worried about the soldiers’ well being?

  9. Push it yid
Please learn how to summarize your thoughts, then learn sentence structure and then learn how to spell. From all of your ramblings I think one thing you were asking is why ddidn’t the soldiers fight back. The answer is self restraint. Had the soldiers fought back there would have been dozens hospitalized and probably a handful of funerals on Sunday. Maybe that would keep the self defined religious Jews quiet for a while.

  10. There is a lot more to this story than reported. It seems to me that a more sensitivity is required on ALL sides here: on the part of the soldiers, who are visiting Frum areas for Shabbos; on the part of some of the residents of said areas, for obvious reasons; and on the part of certain posters here, who have no idea of any details and jump to conclusions!

  11. To a pushite yid , here is an idea for you…. why don’t YOU invite them for a Shabbos meal, instead of poking fun at their intentions. One can say something similar with those on-call with Hatzallah (sometimes in an office); they certainly aren’t on their way to a Shabbos seudah, BUT they serve such an important purpose and service. We don’t know the full halachos of the army on Shabbos, but I do know that we live in a world that we need many in shuls, and we need several others with guns protecting the country. A land with Torah with no army will be a terrible ending, and ALL the more so visa- versa.

  12. I would not comment, but i would have everyone take a look at the YWN report of the Duma attack, and then the report of the Chareidy protests, and you tell me if they are biased or not, the hat the YWN is constantly showing towards the Frum chareidim is insane and unacceptable!

    SHAME ON YOU YWN

Do you write and produce shows for DISNEY??? Rabbi Machlis and family provide seudahs on shabbos for over a 100 Yiddim from all walks of life. If they were on the way to his house…they were entering the gates of Gan Eden for a holy and meaningful shabbos seudah. Of course they have cell phones, uniforms and are armed that is what ARMY soldiers are for.

Am I allowed to scream, attack and disgrace a person who is mechalel shabbos or dressed untzinusidik when in my face? I will be taken away by police, handcuffed and jailed if on Ocean Pkwy, 13th Avenue, North Lake Road or Collins Avenue in America.. There is ONE JUDGE in shamayim, allow him to run the world PLEASE!

  14. From the picture, it looks as if one man is yelling and rest are just standing around. The soldiers don’t seem to be being attacked, they are just listening.

  15. This is NOT A PICTURE of the event being reported upon. How could it be, seeing as it happened on Shabbos? The picture is for illustrative purposes only.

  16. Dear editor, I hope your punishment arrives real soon! G-d will repay you for all your evil, while the real “yeshiva world” and frum Jews sit by and smile. Amen!!

  17. There is a definite bias here that many other posters have also pointed out despite the usual close minded ax grinders. First off I don’t think this picture has anything to do with the alleged event. Secondly, to quote: “the chareidim came out from a tisch and saw the soldiers and decided to attack them”. Anyone who knows anything about tishen of chasidic rebbes knows they don’t end when people are on their way to Shabbos seudas. And “they decided to attack them” who, what when where? that’s ridiculous, what did they have like a meeting there in the middle of the street??? Come on now, at least a lie or a misconstrued event should sound somewhat true.
