Finance Committee Demanding Foreign Ministry Intervention Regarding Cessation of Payments to Dutch Holocaust Survivors

holThere was anger and rage among members of the Knesset Finance Committee on Tuesday, 23 Shevat after learning the government of Holland has stopped making reparation payments to Holocaust survivors who decided to move to Israel. Committee Chairman MK Moshe Gafne took his grievance to the highest level, calling on Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to order the Foreign Ministry to become involved.

Gafne explained to the Prime Minister that the all of the MKs present for the meeting were in agreement, and something must be done to rectify this injustice, the decision of the Dutch government to halt payments to survivors simply because they moved to Israel.
