Waqf Authority Rejects Egalitarian Prayer Agreement Near the Kosel

koselJoining the PA (Palestinian Authority) in its objections to an egalitarian prayer area near the Kosel is the Muslim Waqf Authority, which together with Jordan oversees the operation of Har Habayis.

Al-Aqsa Mosque Director Omar Kiswani, said Sunday 28 Shevat “We will never accept it.”

The PA and the Waqf feel that any change in the so-called religious status quo in the areas of the Kosel and Har Habayis are unacceptable and attest to the ongoing Israeli effort to undermine the Islamic presence on Har Habayis and its control over the holy sites.

  1. This is wonderful news. I am very serious.
The Arabs make a tumult, the WOWniks back off, the frummer yidden hold their ground at the main Plaza (“We allowed the compromise, and it’s not our fault the Arabs don’t want it”), and Shalom Al Yisroel!

  2. At least someomne is sticking up for the original pre-reformed brand of judaism.
As to the chicago maven, i suppose this time you misunderstood. The arabs didnt say WE cant daven at the wall, only the non-mechitza type. Unless of course you dont believe in mechitza, in which case i understand why you are threatend by the arabs joing the orthodox in this case.
Amazing how apparent the “yad Hashem” is.

  3. I can’t believe I can support any Muslim stance, but yes, I hope the Arabs win this struggle to get these Reform provocators off the Kosel grounds.
