Levy: Erdan Refuses to Return Bodies While Ya’alon Does – There is No Policy!

zakaMK (Yesh Atid) Mickey Levi on Tuesday morning spoke with Kol Chair Radio host Mordechai Lavi, speaking on a list of issues. Following is a synopsis of some of the interview.

One is reminded MK Levi is a former Israel Police Jerusalem Police Chief.

Kol Chai:

How do you explain Yesh Atid’s continued success in polls while seated in opposition?

Levi:

For one thing, Yesh Atid was a new party in the last administration and many mistakes were made but we have learned from these mistakes. Today we know how to work with other parties. In addition, the public backs our message, which is straight.

The current administration has no policy. For example, I always fought the return of terrorists’ bodies for this is a deterrence. I continue to fight for this today. I feel homes of terrorists are not to be razed but blown to pieces. I also feel that when a Jerusalem Arab perpetrates an attack, all Bituach Leumi (National Insurance Institute) payments to that family must be halted immediately.

Kol Chai:

Isn’t that collective punishment?

Levi:

I know this is what must be done and we have o take the necessary measures to bring a halt to the terrorism.

[Minister of Public Security] Erdan screams not to give back the bodies of terrorists while [Defense Minister Moshe] Ya’alon does just that. When I paid a shiva visit to the parents of Hadar HY”D the bereaved father placed his head on my shoulder and asked ‘Even if you were going to give back the body of the terrorist for burial, did it have to be during shiva? Couldn’t they have waited until after shiva?’

There are no policies here and there is a mixed message. Yesh Atid’s message is a clear one.
