Meron Shifting To Lag Baomer Mode


rashbiWhile the weather throughout Israel on Tuesday 16 Iyar is unseasonably cold accompanied by showers, Lag Baomer is arriving on schedule nonetheless and in Meron, the various agencies are already in Lag B’Omer mode. The Boyaner Rebbe Shlita, who lights the bonfire signaling the official beginning of Lag B’Omer has already arrived in the city as well.

Police announced that beginning Tuesday between 18:00-23:00, Lag B’Omer road closures will begin until after the event. Police continue to urge anyone planning to visit the tziyun of the Rashbi in the coming days to use public buses and not a private vehicle.

Magen David Adom is operating in Meron with hundreds of EMTs and paramedics along with specialized units and a chopper standing by.

United (Ichud) Hatzalah is in Meron in large numbers, operating a major emergency medical treatment station and physicians, paramedics and EMTs will be taking part in the operation. Ichud has also once again set up its sectoring number signs to facilitate locating a person in need of emergency assistance. This year the organization will be using advanced LifeCompass® technology to facilitate operations during the Lag B’Omer weekend.

Zaka will be distributing thousands of identity bracelets for children in the event they get lost at hundreds of thousands of visitors are expected in Meron in the coming days.
