CEC Recommends Permitting One To Vote Outside Of One’s Registered District

1Israel’s Central Election Committee is recommending permitting registered voters to cast their ballot in elections at any polling station instead of compelling them to vote in the district they reside. This would require one announcing prior to Election Day that one will be voting elsewhere. His declaration will be accepted up to 74 days before elections, Maariv reports.

Hence, if one realizes s/he will be in another city or area in Israel on that day, one may notify election officials in advance and avoid having to travel to one’s home district to cast one’s ballot. This would be particularly helpful for bnei yeshivos who could avoid a trip home to vote.
