The Level Of The Kinneret Is Below The Lower Red Line

1The level of the Kinneret was recorded on Sunday 18 Tammuz being under the lower red line. A check showed it to be minus 212.99, one centimeter below the lower red line which is minus 213.

Less water was pumped from the Knesset this year as its level continues to decline as there was significantly less water from the Golan Heights nachals that feed the Kinneret from northern Israel. If the water gets lower, it can flip, which would result in irreparable salination of the Kinneret, rendering it non potable.

The situation is serious and being far away from Israel’s rain season means we can expect the level of the Kinneret to continue dropping before we see rainfall.
