  1. This article missed a crucial point.
While there was an order to have him released to house arrest the order was not implemented because the police keeps on making up excuses why the house arrest terms are not good enough. They are also playing a game that they know they cant arrest him for more then 24 hours so they keep on going back and forth between courts each time give him another day.

  2. Update please as it is now Thursday evening in Eretz Yisroel. Is Rabbi Berland still incarcerated or has he been released to house arrest?

  3. So R’ Berland goes on lam for years, resists extradition, finally gets grabbed, and the court is going to release him to house arrest? Are they going to build a wall around his house?

  4. The reason they don’t release him is that they know he’ll skip town and flee to some country where he won’t have to face the music for his crimes.

  5. To comment no. 5:
Are you so sure he did a crime? I would advise you not to become a lawyer, prosecutor or a judge. You will not be successful.

  6. This guy created an international hillul hashem of astronomical proportions!
THAT is his worst crime of which he is UNDENIABLY 100% GUILTY!
The best interest of Judaism would be served if he would just disappear from the public scene.
Giving him publicity only spreads and increases the damage. Ignore the scoundrel!
