It has been announced that the levaya of former President Shimon Peres will be held in Yerushalayim on Friday, 27 Elul at 11:00AM.
Leaders, representatives of the international community and former world leaders are expected to arrive to attend the event. Fox News reports that US President Barak Obama will be attending the funeral. Mr. Peres will be interred on Har Herzl in the section for the nation’s leaders.
A special mourning cabinet session will be held today, Wednesday 25 Elul, at 10:00AM.
President Reuven Rivlin, who is currently on a state visit in the Ukraine, is cutting his trip short to return to Israel.
Mr. Peres’ body will lie in state in Knesset on Thursday, 26 Elul.

Can you imagine the chillul Shabbos this will cause as the “world leaders” leave Israel and the troops, police and standby emergency service crews all go home.
