Police Commissioner Alsheich reported a short time ago at live media briefing that a special investigation into the fires in underway and arrests will be made. The commissioner would not detail more than this, but as a former Deputy Director of the Shin Bet one might assume Alsheich has a direction the probe will follow.

In addition, he urged concerned homeowners to remain away from the fire areas, promising police will remain in the areas to prevent looting for as long as it takes. Alsheich adds that social service personnel from the various local and state agencies are working to assess the damage and assist those in need.
