MK ahadut Hatorah) Uri Maklev sent a letter to Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit calling for his intervention to prevent additional desecration at the Kosel. The letter was also sent to Jerusalem Police Chief Yoram Halevy ahead of Rosh Chodesh Kislev, with the chareidi MK aware the Women of the Wall (WoW) organization and its supporters arrive monthly on rosh chodesh.

Maklev calls on Halevy to enforce the law without compromise to prevent “provocative actions” like when the women brought a Sefer Torah to the ezras noshim last month under concealment, with Maklev pointing out this is a violation of the law and police are compelled to act. Maklev calls on them to safeguard the kedushas HaKosel. He points out the women “trample on the law and kedushas HaKosel and ignoring the religious sensitivities of mispallalim, while everyone looks on”, calling on Mandelblit to use his authority to prevent this and not rely on the Kosel Heritage Foundation to play the role of police.
