Record-breaking figures for November tourism to Israel!

During November 2016, around 287,900 tourists entered Israel – a rise of around 38% as compared with last November. During January – November 2016, a total of 2,651,400 tourists entered Israel – a rise of approximately 2% as compared with the same period last year. This represents the highest ever total for tourists in the month of November.

Tourism Minister Yariv Levin said “The intensive marketing efforts that we have invested in new markets such as China and India, together with focused campaigns for the winter season, have led to a record-breaking number of tourists entering Israel during November.

“Our goal is to continue focusing our campaigns so as to meet the challenge of creating an ongoing increase in incoming tourism.

“This is proof of the tourist industry’s incredible potential and the fact that the innovative ideas that we are putting into practice have led to an immediate significant contribution to the Israeli economy.”

The Minister added that it should be remembered that the revenues to the Israeli economy during the past month alone reached over NIS 1.5 billion – approximately NIS 400 million more than last November, and a sum almost equal to the annual Israel tourism marketing budget.

November 2016:

The figures for November reflect a rise of around 38% in tourism relative to November 2015, and a rise of around 31% relative to November 2014.

In November, approximately 254,000 entries were recorded by air – a rise of around 38% compared to November 2015, and unchanged compared to November 2014.

Around 34,000 tourists entered Israel by land, including approximately 28,000 from Jordan and 6,000 from Egypt. These figures reflect rises as compared to November 2015 (38%) and 2014 (10%). Around 20,000 people made a one-day visit during November – a drop of around 20% compared to November 2015 and 2014.

January – November 2016:

The tourist entry figures for January – November 2016 reflect a rise of approximately 2% in tourism to Israel relative to the same period last year, and included 2,651,400 tourists as compared to 2,602,300 during January – November last year.

During this period, 2,401,600 entries were recorded by air – a rise of around 3% as compared to the same period during 2015, and of 2% as compared to the same period in 2014.
