Brooklyn: Greenfield Offers Free Legal Assistance in Brooklyn on Monday, Dec. 12

gfnCouncilman David G. Greenfield is teaming up again with New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) to get his constituents free legal help. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, December 12, the NYLAG mobile van will be parked outside the Councilman’s district office at 4424 16th Avenue in Brooklyn to serve residents who may be in need of legal assistance and cannot afford an attorney. Attorneys will be on hand to provide free confidential legal advice pertaining to issues residents have with government programs such as Medicaid, Medicare, food stamps, housing and other public assistance programs, as well as any other types of legal issues citizens may have.

“Being financially strapped should not be a barrier to receiving sound legal advice. I am proud to provide my constituents with this invaluable and free service through the New York Legal Assistance Group,” said Councilman Greenfield.

Councilman Greenfield is committed to expanding legal assistance in his district. In addition to the services offered this Monday, Greenfield also regularly hosts free immigration-related legal services in partnership with the City University of New York Citizenship Now! project and free mortgage-related legal services through Brooklyn Housing and Family Services. Any resident interested in accessing immigration services or mortgage advice is encouraged to call the Councilman’s district office to schedule an appointment.

The NYLAG mobile van will be parked outside Councilman Greenfield’s office at 4424 16th Avenue from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Monday.
