Betar Illit Residents Protest Ongoing Rock-Throwing Attacks


parBetar Illit Mayor Meir Rubinstein spoke with Kol Chai Radio explaining the protest held by residents on erev Shabbos due to the daily rock-throwing attacks on the Hussan Bypass Road.

Rubinstein explained that the IDF deals with attacks that do not involved gunfire with too light a hand, reminding authorities that rock-throwing attacks kill, as has been seen in the past. He added residents do not and should not have to drive to and from home under threat of such attacks, demanding the army take a firmer position in addressing rock-throwing against motorists towards halting them entirely.

    Does Beitar Illiterate have a mishmar Ezrachi? Don’t they have guns? Rubber bullets?
    I don’t understand how protesting to anyone will help. The law is that citizens have the right to defend themselves.
