to all of you that are saying this quote was taken out of context: irrelevant. the fact that those words came out of his mouth is absolutely wrong, and frankly disgusting. do we really need this? do we not have bigger enemies who are trying to kill us? do we not have more threatening adversaries who do not differentiate between ashkenazi and sefardi? are people in israel really unaware of the fact that there are animals ONLY A FEW MILES AWAY WHO HAVE NO QUALMS ABOUT BLOWING CHILDREN TO SMITHEREENS?!?

it concerns me that some people are such sheep that to them it is inconceivable that baba baruch is 100% wrong. Emunas Chachamim is important, but to a point. if rav elyashiv made the same statement concerning sefardim, i would have no problems calling him wrong. that is not to say that i dont hold him in the highest esteem, but sometimes people are wrong!

any way you spin this, he comes out wrong. there is no possible context where this sweeping generalization could be acceptable. this is sinas chinam of the highest order. are you people really blind to wrongdoing when you see it? would he have to hit you in the face with a studded bat to get your attention? we like to think of our gedolim as infallible, and malachim, and that is completely understandable. they are our leaders, and we look to them for guidance, daas torah and proper hashkafa, but they are humans and as such are capable of error.

this does not discredit or invalidate what they have done in the past, the people they have helped, or the torah they have learned, no one will deny them that. however, it is important for to be able to understand that they are indeed infallible, and that they are capable of being wrong, and that they are capable of recovering from it and return to their previous stature.

as for the claims that he is in it for the money and no other reason…leave that speculation for the mikveh please. it has no place on this forum. #25, your comment is disgusting.

A much more achdusdige (and true) headline would be that Rav Ovadia Yosef and the Shas party have come out opposed to the High Court decision. What is YW’s agenda that it has not even mentioned this development???

why do we need more machlokes? WE DON’T!!! what is the benefit of taking words out of the mouth of a tzaddik, and twisting them around to demonstrate their reality? please remove this news post. Hashem doesn’t like when people do hotza’as shem ra, especially about a tzaddik like the Baba.

If this article was written by Ashkenazim, does he need to say more?(in other words someone who is machshil the tzibbur with loshon hara and sinas chinam by writing this article those were the people he was talking about that have no yiraas shomayim)this is just another example of internet destroying yiddishkeit.The yetzer horo is full and satisfied thanks to sites like these and others.
