He is saying this למען השלם and should be commended for the steps he has taken.

Different minhagim are fine.
Prejudice because of different minhagim is terrible.
When Mashiach comes, will ashkenazim not accept him if he is sefardi?
Will sefardim not accept him if he is ashkenazi?
Maybe… this is why he has not come…
