Gas Prices Across NJ Continue Decline

Average retail gasoline prices in New Jersey have fallen 1.1 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.53 per gallon as of Sunday.

This compares with the national average that has increased 0.6 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.75 per gallon according to gasoline price website NewJerseyGasPrices.com.

Including the change in gas prices in New Jersey during the past week, prices Sunday were 11.3 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 5.1 cents per gallon lower than a month ago. The national average has decreased 2.1 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 21.6 cents per gallon higher than this day one year ago.

“Gasoline prices in a majority of the United States have been stuck in narrow range over the past several weeks,” said Patrick DeHaan, GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst. “The longer oil and gasoline prices remain in this tight range, the harder it will be for prices to break out of that threshold.”

  1. See – deflation isn’t so bad (unless you own a gas station). We should all thank Mr. Obama (its his depression, all Bush left us with was a way-out fiscal crash and a whopper of a recession).
