Then he gets flustered since people aren’t sure of his religious beliefs. Now his standard defense to criticisms is that all the bad things would have been worse but for his intervention. Perhaps he will be remembered for the principle that a President should be someone used to being a public figure. One can’t imagine a Ronald Reagan or a Hilary Clinton getting flustered by “National Enquirer” type journalism.
