Can we astart with Cheney and Rove from the previous administration?
As for the job loss, it is a zero sum game as they are replaced by Republican lackeys for a few years. After another turn around, they will be back and their Republican couterparts will be out of jobs.

Layoffs for aides may not have much impact except on those laid off. Prison terms for their bosses, though, would keep America viable for another few years depending on the lengths of their sentences.

Most of them will find employment as “beltway bandits” (lobbyists or contractors), often at better pay. They get replaced by Republicans. Since the parties frequently switch control, everyone in Washington is used to it. It has no effect on the overall economy.
