Please refer to the recent arguments about head scarves in various Europ[ean countries. This has a familiar ring to it.
BTW I was in Cairo in 1999 and wore a yarmulka all the time and had NO problems with anybody.

I don’t get what the whole hubbub is. After all, 1) it is the halacha (you are not required to wear a kippa or have your tzitzit out when amongst hostile goyim). It’s not like Jordanians are our close allies! 2) What nutcase would want to go walking around those savages identifying themselves as a Jew? You might as well go into a Black neighborhood wearing a t-shirt with the N-word imprinted on it.

Learn to keep a low profile amongst your enemies!

The Jordanians should distribute baseball caps.

If they are seriously concerned that Jews would be harmed, I have no problem with this. Does anyone know of any incidents?

Going back a few decades yidden here in New York and elsewhere in the USA were advised by their parents not to wear yarmulkas in the street. It just wasn’t safe.
They were right. Those who wore them frequently suffered the consequences.
The parents weren’t discriminating; they were rightly concerned f0r the safety of their children.
