9:55AM EST: Snow Starts Falling In Lakewood

Snow has reportedly started falling in Lakewood at 9:55AM, in what meteorologists are predicting as a potential blizzard – with accumulations in the Lakewood area to be anywhere from 12 to 18 inches by the time the storm ends. The heaviest of accumulation is expected at about 5 p.m. on Sunday. The snow is expected to taper off early Monday morning.

The streets are wet, and YWN urges all our readers to please use extreme caution while driving this morning.

The Fire Marshal’s Office in Lakewood sent out the following statement:

We are asking that all apartment building managers and owners, school administrators, dormitory personnel and business owners make sure that all means of egresses (all doors, stairways, and walkways) from buildings shall be free from obstructions that would prevent their proper use to open, including the accumulations of snow and ice.
