I heard Sweeney interviewed on WCBS this afternoon. He has not spoken to Christie since before the storm!

Does Christie still want to be governor?

Can we get Sweeney to move to NYC so we can elect him mayor?

how would they like Christie to get back? All they need is another politician throwing his weight around so he can get back sooner. Look at us in ny. our politicians are right here and we haven’t seen a plow yet. If they are doing fine in nj then they are doing better then ny.

Avi E, the office of LTG was not created to fill in for a few days here or there when the governor is out of town. It was created solely to prevent the president of the Senate from becoming permanent governor as well, and thus wielding too much power. Sweeney is doing a good job with the blizzard, and there's no reason to think Guadagno would do any better, so why shouldn't she go on vacation when the kids are off from school? When else should she go? Lesniak is just sounding off to hear himself speak; note where he made these comments from: Florida! Yes, he's on vacation too, so why does he think Christie's not entitled to do the same? And as LazerC asks, how exactly are Christie or Guadagno expected to get back, if they wanted to?

The office of Lieutenant Governor was created so that the LG could take over if the Governor couldn’t govern. It stands to reason, then, that they shouldn’t be allowed to take their vacations the same week.
