Let’s not be too quick to condemn him and not be too hard on him. Maybe he was trying to start to observe Kashrus, with lox that has kosher supervision. He didn’t steal shrimp or lobster, after all.

I had the same problem at my shop. My bagels were getting stolen…
So I put lox on them!

People really look for trouble when they confront criminals themselves.
The theif could’ve pulled out a gun…
