I didn’t know people still use ham radios. I think it was nice that this airline supplied them.

I am very suprised that YWN has taken an article from the Sun newspaper. It is not the most kosher of newspapers Vamavin Yovin. As for easy jet, this must have been a one-off error. However, I would point out that most of the passengers on easy jet’s flights to Tel Aviv bring their own meals and would hadly have starved! It is also worth noting that not only do easy jet encourage the holding of Mincha or Maariv minyanim on the planes but will also tolerate two separate minyanim if there are too many mispalleleim for one minyan. El Al please note!

Will ElAl apologize for their providing their passengers with food that isn’t too kosher. After all Bosor She’nisalem Min Ha’ayin IS a MAJOR problem!

Whoever edited this article certainly has a flare for the dramatic. This is a story of an airline that made a mistake, recognized it, and apologized. (Perhaps that’s the real news in this story.) But in the hands of a skillful (if not a fully truthful) editor, it became a serious drama.

Airline passengers are generally among the more fortunate people on the planet, and no airline passenger, except possibly a diabetic or someone with similar medical or nutritional requirements, would ever “go hungry” by declining to eat for 4-and-a-half hours. But according to this article, that’s what happened when an airline made a mistake, in a city that probably has an above-average number of kosher-observant passengers. This kind of editing makes YWN a good place for drama, but news – not so much.
